While selecting tables, chairs, benches, garden hammocks, deck chairs and other items for the garden, consistency with home theme should be taken into consideration. Accessories like fountains, earthen pots, garden umbrellas etc must be in sync with the home décor and should not give a cluttered look. After all a garden is the place to relax and enjoy nature.

A mixture of cultures should be avoided in extending the home environment into the garden. If the interiors have traditional Indian look then the garden should also complement it. For an Oriental theme inside the home, granite and bamboo gel well while stone walkways and patio define the French flavour.

Attention should also be paid to the material of garden furniture. According to the weather conditions one can chose from wood, cane, wicker, teak, wrought iron or the ever durable plastic. However, nowadays many new materials are also in vogue like the Malaysian Rattan or rubber wood. Rattan combined with wood or aluminium can make a garden look well put together.

Moving inside, choosing the right home furniture and accessories is very important as it can style your abode excellently. Home furniture can make a room look splendid or distasteful. The theme, colour and material of the furniture should assimilate well with the personality of the home owner.

Indian homes are generally adorned with wood having different finishing. For those who love to experiment metallic furniture like wrought iron or sleek and stylish aluminium furniture can be a good option. For a contemporary look designer furniture and branded products are available in plenty.
While the right security accessories ensure safety of the home, decorative accessories give a distinctive look. Modern home accessories like wall art, paintings framed exquisitely can work wonders. Well chosen lamps, chandeliers and designer lights or candles integrating with the furniture and theme can definitely give a unique feel to your home.

Ornamental plants like bamboo or palm with stylish vases or pots in the living room or kitchen bring nature closer to you and give a refreshing feel. Decorative pillows on sofas, chairs or couch add a soft touch to the decor. Finding the right home theatre accessories for relaxing and enjoyment is very important.

Gardens are great. If you are lucky enough to have enough space for a backyard garden, do yourself a favor and build a garden shed. The convenience of having all of your tools safe and right at your fingertips is immeasurable. Good garden shed blueprints and a little ambition is all it takes to build a lovely little home for your precious tools.

The size of the shed depends on the space available in your yard and what you plan to put inside. If you have a large garden, then you need a garden tiller. These can take up quite a bit of space and can be very heavy, so you might want to build a shed with a ramp and a large door. If you also have a riding lawnmower, then you will need a very large shed and definitely a ramp. Dragging one of those over a step can be very difficult, if not impossible. But if you just do a little gardening and space is limited, a little 8 X 8 will do nicely.

When planning your shed, always keep in mind what you plan to do with it. Do you need shelving? Getting things off of the floor saves space, looks much neater, and makes everything much easier to find.

As with any structure, the foundation and the roof are the key components. A solid foundation will keep moisture and pests out and a solid roof will keep out the rain. If you plan to work in your shed, as opposed to just using it for storage, be careful where you put the windows. Direct sunlight on a window can heat a shed up like a greenhouse, making any work terribly uncomfortable.

If you are a gardener, then obviously you are not opposed to a little outdoor work. Building a garden shed is fun and quite affordable. All you need is the right set of garden shed blueprints and you are all set.

Why Organic Food is More Expensive

Most people believe that because organic food is all naturally grown and thus better for us, it is more expensive. There are no chemicals or pesticides used so it should cost less. That makes perfect sense doesn’t it? Well the frightening truth is organic foods are more expensive because organic farms are not government subsidized, as the chemically laden agriculture industry is. Food shortages during the aftermath of world War II, caused many governments, including the U.S., to start subsidizing the use of growth hormones and other chemicals in farming. At the time the world needed food as fast as possible, and with the help of chemistry we prevented starvation and famine in Europe and other war stricken areas.

What started as a noble cause, however,  has over decades proven to have overstayed its welcome. Huge rotting surpluses of food since the 1970’s has confirmed that production from intensive farming is not working. Today our food contains not only growth hormones, but an arsenal of toxic chemicals in the form of pesticides, insecticides, antibiotics, fertilizers and a whole host of other toxic artificial additives, flavorings, colorings and preservatives. Modern agriculture is like the junkie who has to take a pill to stay alert, and than pops another to get some sleep. We have flooded our food with so many chemicals that we need more chemicals to get some taste and color back. Let us not forget that these additives are bad for you as well.

Here is to a Healthy Life

How to Get Healthy Affordable Food
So for those of you who can afford to pay extra for food that is better, more tasty, and abundant in vitamins, nutrients, and minerals, here’s to a healthy life. For those of you who are just happy when your favorite grocery store has a sale, trusting that what you are buying is good for you, there is hope. After years of eating supermarket food and other fast foods your body begins to store all of the toxins and chemicals. These toxins can affect your body in many ways. Unless you live on a farm or have access to one, the chance of you procuring naturally fed meat and poultry is very slim, unless you are willing or able to pay the extra price. Your fruits and vegetables are a very different story however. The First Lady has made planting and growing your own garden, fashionable again. I will say that, for my wife and me, the last two years of having our own garden have been fun and mouth watering. I had no idea that there is a system to growing a backyard garden, which entailed more than simply planting a bunch of seeds, watering and weeding. We struggled for a few years before we discovered the secret to growing an organic garden. I am sure that we are healthier for it. However, the taste is extraordinary , and, I promise, will be the first thing you notice.

Awhile back my dearest darling decided she wanted to plant a garden. She went and purchased a wheel barrow, a few shovels and hoes along with other various garden utensils as well as bags of potting soil and containers of all styles and sizes…and then attempted to keep it all in my garage! Absolutely not!  So I needed to do a little of shopping myself and purchase a great set of backyard garden shed plans.

I never realized how much knowledge you needed when creating such a structure. The one thing I did not consider was the load on the roof when it snowed. Please consider this if you live in a snow belt as snow is some really heavy stuff and most shed plans come with a fairly flat roof pitch and use small spec lumber which will collapse under the load.

Also, sheds make for excellent targets from individuals looking to steal things to sell to pawn shops and flea markets etc. so get your self a great heavy door and solid lock.

I would also recommend that you get a set of plans for a shed that is a little larger than you think because believe me, it fills up fast and when your wife decides she no longer likes gardening you will not have any room for anything else at all!

Next, if it gets hot where you’re located you need to ensure the unit has roof venting because it can get mighty hot in there and possibly damage some of the shed’s contents. And please, don’t try and save cash by using cheap lumber that will quickly rot. Use pressure treated wood and then seal and paint it so it last many years.

An outdoor garden shed is nice to have and worth the investment. Just ensure if you’re going to be building it your self you receive a great set of ideas since it will save you a lot of time and cash for certain.
